The Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has congratulated Dr Akinwumi Adesina, former President of the African Development Bank and Nigeria’s former Minister of Agriculture, on his appointment as Chairman of the Botswana/De Beers Group Diamond Development Fund.
The Ooni described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Dr. Adesina’s exceptional leadership, global influence, and unwavering commitment to Africa’s economic transformation.
“De Beers remains one of the most influential companies in the history of the global diamond industry, and this appointment further underscores the confidence reposed in Dr. Adesina’s wealth of experience and visionary leadership,” the monarch said.
The Ooni expressed confidence that Dr. Adesina will bring immense value to the role and contribute significantly to strengthening Botswana’s diamond industry and elevating its position in the global market.
“I am proud of my son and I wish him tremendous success in this new assignment. May God continue to guide and strengthen him as he serves Africa and humanity,” the Ooni stated.
