The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has taken possession of its newly relocated Ondo Zonal Office, situated at Road 2, House 10, Parliament Estate, Akure.
The premises was handed over on Thursday to the General Manager, Zonal Coordination Division, Mr. Ifeanyi Okoha, marking another significant milestone in the Board’s commitment to effective host community engagement and service delivery.
The Board’s Ondo office was previously located at Igbokoda, but had to be moved to Akure following sustained calls for the establishment of an office location that is more accessible and strategically positioned closer to the state government, industry stakeholders, and generality of Ondo State’s residents. By responding to the clamour, the Board has once again demonstrated its dedication to addressing the needs of its stakeholders and strengthening institutional collaboration.
The relocation of the zonal office reflects the NCDMB’s unwavering commitment to advancing the growth of Nigerian content development and maximizing the value chain opportunities within the oil and gas sector. It also highlights the Board’s resolve to foster stronger partnerships with government institutions, host communities, and industry operators, while promoting increased engagement and interaction across the state.
The new office location is expected to significantly improve operational efficiency, provide a conducive working environment, and enhance collaboration among staff and stakeholders. This strategic move positions the Board to deliver its mandate more effectively and efficiently.
Through the new office, the Board will facilitate the participation of Ondo State residents in the oil and gas value chain, through capacity building, job opportunities and other avenues.
It will also strengthen its engagement with host communities across Ondo State by receiving and addressing community-related complaints, conducting host community contractors’ verification exercises, and organizing sensitization programmes on the mandate and activities of the NCDMB. These initiatives are aimed at deepening the relationship between host communities and operating and service companies operating within the state, while promoting sustainable development and inclusiveness in the sector.
The handover ceremony was attended by staff of the Board, Ondo state government officials and other key stakeholders.
