Nasarawa Governor unlocks more lithium riches with historic agreement

Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, has witnessed the signing of a landmark Cooperation Agreement between Nasarawa Mining Company and Ganfeng Mining Company.

The 10-year renewable agreement grants Ganfeng the rights to exploit lithium on behalf of the state government within the 1.5 Cadastre Unit allotted by the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development in Endo community of Nasarawa State.

The agreement, signed on Monday, September 9, 2024, guarantees:

– $1.5 million payment to Nasarawa State Government
– Establishment of a lithium processing plant in Endo, Nasarawa Local Government Area
– Annual payments to the state government

Governor Sule directed that these resources be invested in the host community and the state at large, paving the way for a new era of economic growth and development.
