The 4th African Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit (AFNIS) 2025 is set to return to Abuja, Nigeria, from July 15-17, 2025, bringing together high-level stakeholders to shape the future of Africa’s resource-driven economy.
Hosted by the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development in collaboration with 8 other Federal Ministries and agencies, AFNIS 2025 will be held under the theme “Harnessing Local Content for Sustainable Development,”.
Since its inception in 2022, AFNIS has emerged as a premier convening platform for African Ministers, global institutions, and industry leaders across mining, oil & gas, agriculture, and finance. The 2024 edition, held at the State House Conference Centre, Villa, Abuja, was officially opened by H.E. Kashim Shettima, GCON, Vice President of Nigeria, and featured key dignitaries, including African government leaders and senior executives from African Development Bank, International Finance Corporation, Africa Finance Corporation, Sustainable Energy for All, and top corporations such as Segilola Resources Operating Limited, Sierra Leone’s FG Gold, Nigeria Content Monitoring Development Board, Anfani Ltd., Woodcross Resources, Asba Group, Kaduna Electric, and many more.
For AFNIS 2025, local content will take centre stage, with a strategic push to align Africa’s vast mineral wealth with global industrialization and sustainability goals. The summit will emphasize the role of local value chains, strategic financing, and responsible resource management in driving long-term economic development.
Key Highlights of AFNIS 2025:
• High-Level Ministerial & CEO Retreat (July 14-15): Closed-door discussions among African Ministers and CEOs on rethinking Africa’s resource strategy for long-term resilience.
• Strategic Partnerships & Policy Summit (July 16): Keynote speeches, panel sessions, and exhibitions on local content development, green economy strategies, and global supply chain linkages.
• Technical Summit (July 17): In-depth sessions on critical minerals, energy transition, responsible sourcing, and decentralized energy security.
• Partnerships & Announcements: Launch of the “Africans for Africa Fund,” a major initiative to drive local investments in key sectors.
