According to a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Kebbi State Governor, Ahmed Idris and made available to journalists at the weekend, the state delegation to Romania was led by the state governor, Nasir Idris.
Idris, during the formal signing of the MoU in Romania, said the partnership demonstrated the genuine commitment of the state government to developing its mining sector.
“It is our hope and belief that bringing foreign partners into the mining sector would not only boost the revenue base of government but it will also create more job opportunities for our teaming unemployed youths, ” Idris said.
“The state government will not joke with mining sector, it’s a very important sector that heavily contribute to the growth and development of the state and the nation at large, with the hope that our people will take advantage of this to improve their wellbeing.”
He expressed optimism that the Romanian authorities would abide by all rules and regulations governing the MoU signed for the good of the two nations.
Those in attendance during the signing ceremony were; the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the state, Barrister Junaidu Bello Marshall, Rep. Bello Ka’oje, member representing Suru/Bagudo federal constituency as well as Alhaji Ibrahim Bagudu, a reputable businessman and political figure in Kebbi State.
