Kano State Commissioner for Solid Mineral and Natural Resources, Alhaji Safiyanu Hamza disclosed that no state or nation could effectively and efficiently develop the sector without proper data collation and documentation of the available resources.
The Commissioner posits that such available data would attract more investors both locally and internationally.

He made the assertion Tuesday in the conference hall of the ministry shortly after a presentation by the State Coordinator of Raw Material Research and Development Council ( RMRDC), Engineer Kamil Almustapha. The presentation was on identifying the possible areas of collaboration between the two parties to move the sector better.
Alhaji Safiyanu Hamza who assured the state coordinator of the Ministry’s readiness to having partnership in that regard added that conducting research and having technology development would also be helpful and meaningful to solid mineral exploration and exploitation in the state.
During the presentation, Engineer Kamil Almustapha pointed out that the council was ready to foster synergy in solid minerals local content development, information documentation and dissemination, standard check and balance unit, guidelines for the formalization of artisanal and small scale Miners as well as organizing Kano annual international solid minerals investment exhibition.
He further disclosed that the council was planning to establish Solid Minerals Laboratory Analysis Center in the state.
Permanent Secretary, Engineer Mansur Yakubu expressed appreciation of the ministry to the Kano office of the council and reaffirmed unreserved collaborative determination to promote and develop solid mineral sector across the state.
