More than 200 guests joined Panafrican Equipment Group, Komatsu and Wirtgen Group in Abuja for a series of engagements reinforcing their commitment to Nigeria’s mining and infrastructure sectors.
ABUJA, Nigeria | October 2026
Panafrican Equipment Group (PEG) officially opened its new facility in Idu, Abuja, on 14 October 2026. The opening marks a milestone for its Nigerian operations, extending its reach beyond Lagos to customers across the Federal Capital Territory and Northern Nigeria.
The facility brings equipment, spare parts, technical expertise and after-sales support closer to customers in mining, construction, infrastructure and agriculture. For those customers, that means faster access to the parts and service that keep machines working and operations running efficiently.

Komatsu-Sponsored VIP Dinner
The opening was preceded on 13 October by a VIP dinner sponsored by Komatsu. The evening brought together customers, industry leaders and stakeholders from across Nigeria’s key industry segments.
More than 200 guests took part across the Abuja engagements, alongside representatives of PEG, Komatsu and Wirtge Group. Komatsu’s sposorship reflected its longstanding partnership with PEG, while Wirtge Group’s participation showcased the breadth of the
portfolio PEG offers customers in mining, road construction and infrastructure.

Engagements Around Nigeria Mining Week 2026
The three companies also joined customer engagements around Nigeria Mining Week 2026, meeting industry stakeholders to discuss equipment requirements and explore solutions for mining and infrastructure projects.
Bringing manufacturers, distributor and customers together in one place gives a clearer picture of what the industry needs. Komatsu’s mining and construction equipment combined with Wirtge Group’s technologies for road construction, earthworks, materials processing and surface mining, gives PEG a complementary offering across the industries driving Nigeria’s growth.
Built on PEG’s Trusted Partner Model
The Abuja facility is a practical expression of PEG’s Trusted Partner model. The model rests on seven pillars: customer targeting and KYC; focused products; investment; organisation structure; support, solutions and advisory; finance; and industry segmentation.
The new facility puts several of these pillars into action at once. It is a direct investment in infrastructure and people, places a local team close to Northern Nigerian customers, and brings a focused portfolio of Komatsu, Wirtgen Group and AGCO equipment to the specific segments it serves. Combined with after-sales support, technical advisory and finance solutions, the aim is simple: to be the partner customers rely on across the full life of their equipment.
High-Level Leadership Visit
The week after the opening, a four-member delegation visited Panafrican Equipment (Nigeria) Ltd.’s (PENL) headquarters in Lagos and the new Abuja facility in support of Melhem Khoury, General Manager of Panafrican Equipment (Nigeria) Ltd, and his team. The visit underscored the strategic importance of the Nigerian market. The delegation comprised:
• Tadashi Maeda, MD & CEO, Komatsu Europe International (Europe and Africa)
• Eric Perben, General Manager, Komatsu Africa Division
• Scott McCaw, CEO, Panafrican Equipment Group
• Rafael Yturralde, Group Sales Director, Panafrican Equipment Group
The visit reinforced the partners’ shared commitment to deepening customer relatioships and supporting the development of Nigeria’s mining, construction and infrastructure sectors.

With operations now in both Lagos and Abuja, established OEM partnerships and continued
engagement with industry stakeholders, PEG is positioned to deliver reliable equipment,
responsive technical support and lasting value to customers across Nigeria.
