The Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recently received a delegation from Kaduna Mining Development Company Limited.
The visit, which took place on on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, was part of efforts to strengthen collaboration in combating economic and financial crimes and promoting transparency, accountability and integrity in the mining sector.
Acting Zonal Director, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE 1 Ahmed M. Ghali, who received the delegation, led by the Overseer, Mr. Caleb Solomon Guruza, described the mining sector as a critical Stakeholder in the fight against economic sabotage and illegal mining activities.
Ghali stressed the importance of collaboration among all relevant Stakeholders in ensuring that mining activities are conducted strictly within the ambit of the law and established regulatory frameworks.
Earlier, Guruza who emphasized the need for sustained collaboration between the mining sector and the Commission in order to address the growing menace of illegal mining activities across the country disclosed that between 70 and 75 per cent of mining operations in Kaduna are carried out by illegal operators, a development he described as a major threat to the nation’s economy and security.
