The House of Representatives Committee on Mineral Resources will soon undertake an inspection tour of Udege Mbeki and other mining communities within Udege Chiefdom of Nasarawa State.

The Member Representing Keffi, Karu/Kokona Federal Constituency of Nasarawa State in the House, Hon. Jonathan Gaza GwefwI, disclosed this on Saturday when he paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, Alhaji Suleiman Ahmed Eko, the 4th Osu Ajiri of Udege Chiefdom, at his palace in Udege Mbeki.

According to him, the inspection is to:
*Assess mining operations in the area.
*Evaluate the relationship between host communities and mining companies
*Promote peaceful coexistence and ensure compliance with mining laws
*Encourage corporate social responsibility for the growth and welfare of host communities

welcomed the lawmaker and applauded the House Committee for its commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustainable development in mining areas.
The Osu Ajiri assured the House Committee members of the traditional institution’s full support and cooperation to ensure the success of the inspection exercise and lasting peace in the chiefdom.
