Kano State Commissioner for Solid Mineral and Natural Resources, Alhaji Safiyanu Hamza Kachako has expressed readiness in joining hands with worldwide exploration service providers to developing mining activities in the state.
Adamu Ibrahim Dabo,Director Public Enlightenment,Ministry of Solid Mineral & Natural Resources,Kano State, in a press release said the Alhaji Kachako made the assertion on Tuesday 17th December 2024, in the Ministry’s conference hall, shortly after a presentation by GEOSCAN, a German based company with headquarters in Berlin.
The visibly impressed Commissioner, said the presentation was highly educative and expressed optimism that the company had proved to be a reliable collaborator to achieving landmark successes in the sector.
‘…this presentation really availed me with a conscience in driving this sector to a much needed greater height’.
‘..it should also one day be extended to the state executive council meeting for a sensitization on the modern, simple and faster means of solid Mineral exploration’ the commissioner added.
He appealed to the company to organise a befitting digital training for the state mining stakeholders with a view to enhancing capacity building among them.
Leading the presentation title ‘Roadmap for the Geoscan and Kano State Partnership towards unlocking the economic potential of Kano Solid Minerals’, the Managing Director of the company, Mr. Damiete Amachree explained that the company which is a subsidiary in Nigeria would continue to operate as a service provider in solid mineral exploration and to serve as a link to wooing the sector investors by virtue of its global positioning.
Mr. Amachree pointed out that such positive results could be achieved through a memorandum of understanding between the two parties that would border on Partnership foundation, State mine-company Optimization & Operationalization, Asset management & Digital Training formation, Investment & Market Readiness, Investment Engagement & Capital Mobilisation as well as Exploration and Resource Management.
The Managing Director as well the presenter entertained some questions and comments from the Permanent Secretary and Directors of the ministry.
To round off the presentation, the Permanent Secretary Engineer Mansur Yakubu expressed the ministry’s appreciation to the company for the sensitization and the knowledge gained.
