Alake spoke at COMEG 14th induction of 143 members and 20 corporate members in Abuja.
The minister hailed the digital stamp, which includes use of unrecyclable paper sticker embedded with security features.
He noted that the innovation curbed unwholesome practice and ensured authenticity.
Alake, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Mary Ogbe, described COMEG as a key agency of the ministry.
The minister noted the council’s regulatory functions, saying this made it a leading institution in Nigerian extractive industry.
He noted that the council’s role was helping realisation of the objectives of President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” in transforming and repositioning mining.
Alake said: “Today’s event is a testament to values of hard work, determination and professionalism. It reflects COMEG’s commitment to ensuring that only qualified practitioners are recognised and empowered to contribute to our mining sector in line with COMEG Act No. 40 of 1990 (now CAPC33 LFN 2004).”
