Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Dele Alake has expressed excitement over the interest showed by Glencore Group to invest in the Nigerian mining sector.
He said this is an indication that current efforts to sanitise the mining sector are attracting international big players.
Dr Alake stated this on his social media page.
According to him, “Receiving world renowned mining company, Glencore Group CEO, Gary Nagle and his team at the office over the week is a pointer to the fact that our reforms and efforts to sanitise the mining sector are attracting international big players.

“Swiss-based Glencore is rated as the World’s biggest mining company, raking in revenue of over $211bn in 2023 alone.
“We welcome their interest to invest in our mining sector and other sectors of the economy.
“Our message to them is clear: Nigeria is open for business; Incentives have been put in place to attract big players whilst we are steadily dismantling all bottlenecks to ease of doing business.”
